Betting Systems: Are They Reliable?
Different betting systems are invented for the purpose of lowering the house edge and increasing the player's winning odds. With many kinds of betting systems today, you may be confuse as to which of them is really effective.
The truth is all types of betting systems are not perfectly reliable. The reason is that all betting systems are bound within the walls of probabilities and mathematics, therefore there is no assurance that a betting system is effective in all situations.
All betting systems can be categorized into three:
- Positive progression betting: In every time that you win, you must increase your bet. This is a famous strategy because your bankroll doesn't have to be large.
- Insurance betting systems: You must decrease the amount of your bet every time you lose. It is considered as the safest betting system and is referred to as "playing it safe".
- Negative progression betting: You need to increase your bet whenever you lose. The strategy is used to reverse your losing streak but you must have a very large bankroll to do it and it is somewhat risky also.
The most commonly used betting systems in gambling are the following:
Gambling Fallacy - It is a betting system that assumes that if a certain number or card has not come up lately, it will absolutely show up in the near future. This betting system is wrong because no one can predict the future and the mathematical probabilities are taken for granted. Those who rely this betting system is in a very risky situation, therefore it is best to not use this system.
Martingale System - Sometimes referred to as a proof-tested betting system because of its old origins. This betting system mostly applies to the even money bets. If you win, you must change your bet and if you lose, you need to double your bet. This is a negative progression betting and thus requires a very high bankroll.
D`Alenbert System - This is a betting system that has the same principles with the Martingale system but is much safer to use. Every time you lose, you need to raise your bet and every time you win, you've got to decrease your bet.
Paroli System - The betting system that is the exact opposite of the Martingale system because if you win, you need to increase your bet and your bankroll doesn't have to be very large.
1-3-2-6 System - A betting system under the positive progression betting category and is applicable if you win four consecutive times. Your first bet is one unit, the second bet should be three units, the third bet is two units, and the fourth bet will be six units.
Once again, these betting systems are not really flawless, so it is up for you to decide which of them you should use. Just remember that these betting systems will not be applicable in every gambling situation.
